ABOUT US

Founded in May 2023 by entrepreneur Peytyn Willborn, Quality Life Chicago is rooted in a deep commitment to uplifting low-income communities. Shaped by Peytyn’s upbringing in Altgeld Gardens and Auburn Gresham, the organization aims to provide comprehensive support to individuals in at-risk areas.

Peytyn, with a successful 32-year career in cosmetology, expanded her impact by operating Chicago’s first 24/7 daycare for 17 years. She advocated for parents and provided mentorship in local schools. Inspired by the “Each One Teach One” model, Quality Life Chicago emphasizes peer-to-peer education and community-driven learning.

Taking a holistic approach to well-being, the organization addresses mental, emotional, and physical health through initiatives like mental health counseling, employment support, and coparenting mediation. Peytyn’s commitment to a vegetarian lifestyle since 1984 is reflected in initiatives promoting healthy eating habits in at-risk communities.

Recognized for community service and entrepreneurship, Quality Life Chicago received awards such as The Chicago Defender’s “Women of Excellence Award” (2021) and the “Empire Entrepreneur Award” from CineCares Foundation (2015). The passing of Peytyn’s parents in 2020 and 2022 fueled a renewed focus on leaving a legacy.
