Simeon High School Fantasy Hair Competition
In an inspiring celebration of youth empowerment, creativity, and vocational excellence, the Simeon High School Cosmetology Program hosted a vibrant Fantasy Hair Competition featuring its talented student stylists. This event showcased the technical skills and imaginative flair of cosmetology students as they transformed unconventional items into fantasy-themed masterpieces.
Led by the dynamic cosmetology instructor at Simeon, the competition challenged students to push creative boundaries—resulting in stunning presentations.
Peytyn Willborn, founder of Quality Life Chicago and Director of Youth Programming, served as an expert judge alongside industry professionals. As a longtime supporter of vocational education and entrepreneurship, she brought heartfelt encouragement and insightful feedback to the young competitors.
This event highlighted the importance of vocational trade programs in equipping youth with real-world skills and platforms to express themselves boldly. The competition not only crowned a winner but celebrated every student for their vision, teamwork, and dedication.

“A TOUCH OF SOUL” CULINARY ARTS PROGRAM AT KANKAKEE HIGH SCHOOL
The Kankakee School District partnered with Quality Life Chicago to offer this training program in both culinary skills and life skills. This six-part series leveraged Kankakee High School’s new state-of-the-art culinary arts facility to give participants hands-on food preparation experience.
